The Lake of Fire

I have always been shadow, as have you.  I simply rejoice in my place in the lands between light and dark, whereas you pretend that all is bright and pure.

To those who cast me aside

Who said there is a void behind my eyes

Who buried me beneath the lake of fire

Whose resolve was thin as wire

Who claimed to be without sin

Who never looked within

Who feared the big reveal

Who ran from evil to evil

Who could not understand

Who would not understand

I never needed you

But you needed me

And now you wonder how

I simply could know

That you were never a part of me

Even though I will always be a part of you

Does it frighten you to know

That beneath that skin of yours

We both share

The void behind our eyes

We’ll meet again

Beneath the lake of fire
